We want you to know what happens with information (sometimes called data) about you, when you use whiteboardr.
If you need help understanding what this page means, you can ask your parent, carer or another responsible adult such as your teacher, who should be able to explain it to you (or they can ask us if they’re not sure either).
Your teacher, parent, carer or another adult has given us a little bit of information about you. If you’re a school user then your teacher may have given us your name and the name of your school. When you join a lesson, you only give us your nickname.
If you’d like to know more about why the school gives us this information you can ask your teacher to explain.
When you use whiteboardr, we are able to collect other pieces of information about you, such as:
- Your answers to the tasks your teachers or adults give you. We let your teachers or the adult who set up the lesson see these answers so they can help you learn even better.
- If you upload a picture, your teachers or the adult who set up the lesson will be able to see it so they can remember or celebrate your achievements.
- If you record your voice, you teacher or the adult who set up the lesson will be able to hear it, so they can help you learn even better. They may choose to have your voice changed to something they can read so that they can see your answers more easily.
- Information about website version you’re using and the browser you are using to view it. That allows us to help you better if there’s a technical issue.
If you email us or message us on our social media channels then we can collect your email address or social media handle and what you actually say to us – for example, you may email us if something is not working properly.
There is no need to worry because we will only collect the smallest amount we need to so you can access the site.
